Hi everyone. I got a chance to try out a hair straightening brush. I was excited because I saw so many people try them out and I was curious to see how one worked on my kinky, 4c natural hair.
The brush that I am using in this tutorial/ mini review is the irresistible me Jade Hair straightening Ceramic-Tourmaline Brush: hair products that I used are form Luxe Organix. They worked well for me, but I think whatever you typically use should be fine: have a video where I used these products for heatless curls: prepare my hair, I washed my hair using the Luxe Organix Argan oil shampoo and conditioner, then I just twisted my hair in large sections until it dried.
Next, I sectioned my hair in 4 sections then I used a small amount of the leave-in styling cream as a heat protectant. I straightened small sections of my hair at 410 degrees and my hair did revert when I washed it a few days later, so I didn't risk heat damage this time.
The brush did straighten and soften my hair, but the result was more like a blow out than flat ironed, bone straight hair. I like the results especially considering the fact that it only took an hour, but realistically speaking, 4c hair just isn't going to straighten like waves or soft curls. Either way, it's great if you suck at blow drying or flat ironing your hair. It's impossible to mess up.
