Always keep in mind these three things while straightening your hair with flat irons..

1) Texture- if your hair is coarse and thick then increase the temperature of the hair iron above 200,if the hair is fine dont use too much heat on the hair

2) Temperature- Dont use too much heat on hair thats damaged fine and prone to breakage..

3) Technique- Lift away from the roots and dont go over each section more than thrice..

Always use a heat protectant before using any heated appliances..
