Top 10 Ultra-thin/Minimalist Cases for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus (Caudabe Veil XT, Peel, Pitaku)

What are the best Minimalist iPhone 7 cases? Out of the 120+ iPhone 7 cases that I’ve used, there are 15 cases that I would consider as Minimalist cases. Every one of these cases will add less than 2 mm’s to the thickness and 4mm’s to the width of your iPhone. Which isn’t much.

I've personally used every product in this list so you won't find any marketing fluff in this video. I'm quite particular when it comes to iPhone accessories and will take the time to see if a product is worth getting.

I will add that my scoring system takes into account the amount of protection a case or skin provides for the iPhone so if you don’t care about protection, there's a second list towards the end of the description.

There are two products that don't make the Top 10 in the list which are the Caudabe Veil XT and Peel cases (They are #11 and #12). I've done a quick comparison between the two at the bottom of the description.

If this video was helpful to you, consider getting the cases through the links. I am not sponsored by any of these companies and have spent a multitude of hours using and reviewing these products.

---Top 10 Ultra-thin/Minimalist Cases for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus---

1. Spigen Thin Fit 360 value, thin, comes with two glass screen protectors and works with magnetic car mounts

2. Apple Silicone Case texture but expensive. Not as durable as TPU cases.

3. Caudabe Sheath best TPU case for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. Feels great but still offers your iPhone a bit of protection from the odd drop.

4. Incipio NGP Pure highest rated, thin, semi-clear iPhone 7 case. Handling is decent though fingerprints are going to be an issue.

5. Incipio NGP Advanced texture, handles well. The toughest iPhone 7 case on this list with 5ft drop protection at the corners.

6. Spigen Ultra Hybrid thin, completely clear case that has decent edges.

7. Pitaka coolest case on this list and the only case not made from TPU and polycarbonate. The shell is made from Aramid (another name for Kevlar). It handles very well but won't protect your iPhone from much.

8. Spigen Thin Fit offer much protection but is one of the thinnest cases to offer magnetic mount capabilities.

9. DBrand or SlickWrap Skins as thin as you can get but won't offer your iPhone ANY protection. Only upside is that you will be able to use it with other iPhone accessories.

10. Spigen Liquid Armor/Liquid Air on the case is decent but edges are a little slick. Feels "softer" than every case on this list.

These cases won't offer much protection for you iPhone so don't be surprised if your iPhone takes on a bit of damage if dropped. Now, if you're completely forgoing the protection aspect of the cases, the list below is for you! The rankings used are still based on the design and functionality of the ultra-thin or minimalist iPhone case.

Peel vs Caudabe Veil XT

Between these two extremely thin iPhone 7 cases, I personally would go with the Caudabe Veil XT. It will wear better over time than the Peel as the texture of the case hides scratches better.

Running your fingernail over the Peel case will leave a mark which doesn't happen with the Veil XT.

The extra texture of the Veil XT also improves the handling of the iPhone which is great. The Peel is slicker but is better than the Spigen Air Skin.
